On Christmas of 2021, I said goodbye to my furever baby of 16 years...
After holding Jean Pierre for the last time that night, illustrating him became a way that let me hold him a little longer. Each line I drew and every brushstroke I made brought the memory of the features I loved about him alive.
Illustrating JP allowed me to grieve in a way that brought joy instead of sadness.
Meet Jean Pierre, the one who's been by my side for half my life and has been with me through more than any human in my life has.
My half was his whole, and for that I am eternally grateful.
