Salzburg surprised both Josh and I.
In fact we considered skipping this place all together and are so glad we didn’t because we fell in love with Salzburg!
It’s small and quite like no city I’ve ever experienced. The buildings and city are white and pastel and so crisp and serene.
A few of our Favorite Things:
1. Shopping Streets
For being so small Josh and I literally got lost wandering the streets. Window shopping was fun because they had their own unique sense of fashion.
2. Crisp Apple Strudels and Schnitzel with Noodles.. These were a few of our favorite things!
No but seriously. We had the BEST food in Salzburg. And the proof is in the pudding because we have the most food pics at this city than any of our other locations..!
Our Best meal was at Barenwirt where Josh ordered a Large Goulash with Kingsized Dumpling and I ordered this amazing dish on the right: Kasnocken.
3. Unique City Vibe
I can’t quite place a finger on what makes this city so different. The looks of it reminded us of a mini, quaint version of Vienna but with a complete 180 degree turn in the vibe. It makes you understand how Mozart was able to compose his creations in this town.
4. Music Scene
When we arrived we followed the sound of music (last S.O.M. pun!). It lead us to this woman singing opera in front of the Cathedral and it projected her voice so beautifully! It was a mesmerizing experience.
QUICK TIPS:
1. Sound of Music Locations
I was a little underwhelmed by the Sound of Music locations but they were still fun to visit and see in person!
2. More than 24 hours
Salzburg was our 2nd location where we spent less than 20 hours. We may not have quite needed 2 full nights but at least a day and a half would’ve been nice.
